Why I built AirCareer
Early in my career, I was fascinated by finding a job. It seemed like a game to me: there were so many companies and opportunities.
I started a YouTube channel to share what worked for me: interview tips, resumes and negotiation tactics. (It's in Russian, my first language. Here's the one in English: Andrey Yasinsky.) Over time, it grew into a community of 175,000+ job seekers. I also took on career coaching, and I coached 500+ professionals in tech and white-collar jobs to their next role.
Then I got laid off in 2025 and found out firsthand how hard job search has become: ATS AI filters, ghost jobs. Over the years it has become much harder just to be seen, even when you're qualified.
Then I joined DoorDash as a Lead Data Scientist. I interviewed and screened candidates. On the hiring side, I saw how good candidates get filtered out by applicant tracking systems.
So I quit DoorDash to found AirCareer with my best friend Alex, who has built games for millions of people at Ubisoft and has great expertise in building scalable, reliable products. We set out to fix the broken job market (ambitious, I know, but doable).
